“No human being is the same; we are like snowflakes, none of us are the same but we are all COOL.” — Pharrell Williams
Is it true that no one, not another human being, is like me? Not now, not ever? They say my fingerprints, and even my retinas, are individual to me and me alone. DNA is also said to be unique to each individual, with the one exception that identical twins share the same DNA. But this begs the question, in what sense is an identical twin a unique person?
This profound question was the subject of a great short film called Amelia the Twin, by The Montgomery Brothers. These brothers, Ethan and Luke, are themselves twins, and in their film they creatively present the dilemma of a young girl trying to distinguish herself from her identical twin sister.
What makes Amelia unique? Perhaps it’s as simple as saying she was created with a soul, immaterial to her DNA, or even the features of her fingerprints and retinal veins. Each soul is an expression which cannot be captured in any other form. “There can be only one,” to quote a line.
At AGM, we embrace the uniqueness of each soul. You are quite literally, “One of a Kind.” And that is COOL.
